The Director of Century Apparels Pvt Ltd, a garment export unit located in Tirupur, South India, Ms Lilam Reuben has more than three decades of experience in the export business.

A firm advocate of sustainability and minimalism, Ms Lilam has taken many steps to create an environment- focused enterprise. The efforts of the team at Century Apparels has transfomed this erstwhile barren land into a green space, with more than 500 large trees. The onsite Miyawaki Forest has over 4000 trees and about 1200 fruit trees.

Century Apparels has 30 % solar power and is 90% plastic-free. All the storm water and rain water goes into a close to 1 lakh square feet open belt, to aid in rain water harvesting.

Plans have been made to move to a Bio STP, to reuse water. As part of their CSR, the company donates 1000 – 1500 clothes for HIV-afflicted children, and sponsors cancer treatment and wheelchairs on a requirement basis.

Ms Lilam Rueben is passionate about painting and she loves to indulge in it in her free time.
